Problems with Wi-Fi from HTC and One X One S? Try this solution

Late last week, was a rich and interesting by the fact that the former owners of the new HTC smartphones euphoria of the past purchases, and the Web began to appear about the problems they found. Of course, some problems can be attributed to far-fetched, but there are those that are really serious spoil the appearance or disruption to normal working capacity. The latter type of problems and is not quite correct operation of Wi-Fi on your phone. Which, however, we can easily solve yourself.

Some users HTC One S and One X said about the problems in working with networks Wi-Fi. According to reports, after leaving the sleep mode Wi-Fi on your phone is turned off and is restored only after the exit from this mode. Interestingly, this happens even if the transfer takes place through a network of data that violates the normal operation of some applications. Empirically it was found that this problem only occurs when making automatic settings on the access point / router. Certainly HTC is preparing a patch to solve the problem, as long as the network configuration manually. If you do not know how to do this, follow the instructions below.
  1. First go to Settings> Wi-Fi and "delete" your Wi-Fi
  2. Now reselect your network and enter your password
  3. Click on "Show Advanced Options" and select "IP Settings", then choose "Static "instead of" DHCP "
  4. The address IP : enter the IP address you want to assign to your phone. Take it from the list of available IP assigned via DHCP (check your router configuration page if you have doubts). For example, if your router is 192.168.0.1, from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254, then you should be fine.
  5. Gatweay : The IP address of your router.
  6. IP Prefix Length : usually the "24" standard should be fine
  7. DNS1/DNS2 : The primary and secondary DNS of your ISP. If you are not sure you can use Google's public DNS, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, as shown in the screenshot.
  8. Click " connect "and eventually everything will work normally.
If you still have problems after this operation with Wi-Fi, try to enable "Best Performance Wi-Fi", Wi-Fi settings in Advanced. If you have problems to connect, or you can connect but not access to internet, check the settings, especially the gateway and DNS.
In case of failure even after changing the settings properly Wi-Fi, continue to connect via DHCP and IP expect the new firmware that contains the fix.
