Production of quad-core processors instead of Apple A6 Samsung started TSMC

Company Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd (TSMC) has launched a test production of mobile processors A6. Thus for the release of 28-nanometer chips next generation Samsung will be responsible instead of the Taiwanese TSMC.

As the Taiwan Economic News, count on the fact that these processors will appear in the iPad the third generation is impossible. According to the manufacturer, the chips do not go into mass production until the second quarter of next year.
Characteristics of A6 were not disclosed, although it is introducing a new chip graphics processor PowerVR Series 6, capable of much better graphics performance than the current A5. It is assumed that the A6 will be the first quad-core mobile lineup in Apple, becoming the heart of the sixth generation of smartphones iPhone, expected in 2012.
