NexStar WiFi: Wireless docking station HDD with support for iPhone, iPad and AirPlay

American manufacturer of components and mobile Vantec has announced a unique docking station for hard disk size of 3.5 inches with wireless networks Wi-Fi.

Typically, these products are equipped with Ethernet and USB ports for connecting to a computer, but the new model has been developed to communicate with both Mac and Windows-based PCs and TVs, and with mobile devices. Thanks to the wireless module, NexStar WiFi can transmit a variety of content in the air of the SATA-HDD to any device. Some of the gadgets are compatible iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and smartphones and tablets based on Android.

The docking station has a compact plastic housing white with the following dimensions: 136 x 83 x 87 and supports the safety of Wi-Fi Security Protection WEP/WPA/WPA2, home media server, UPnP, Media Server function for video game consoles Xbox and PS3, as well Airplay also for music, photos and video to Apple TV and AirPort Express. Also boasts the presence of new high-speed interface USB 3.0.

The new docking station from Vantec with a Wi-Fi will go on sale later this year. The cost NexStar WiFi still is not known.

Samsung Galaxy Grand: 5-inch smartphone with budget performance

Samsung has announced a new “Google phone” Galaxy Grand. On the one hand, he has a huge 5-inch display, which is more typical of the flagship devices, and on the other - rather mediocre specifications, which means focus on the segment of the unit cost of smartphones.

Resolution 5-inch display is only 800 x 480 pixels. Other specifications include a dual-core processor with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory (possible extension for another 64 GB via microSD). In the presence of two chambers,  the main 8-megapixel and 2-megapixel front, modules Wi-Fi a / b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS/GLONASS, a standard set of sensors and battery 2100 mAh.

The smartphone works on 2G and 3G (HSPA + 21Mbit / s) under the operating system Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Its size - 143.5x76.9x9.6mm, weight - 162grams.

Galaxy Grand will be available in two versions: standard (GT-I9080) with support for two SIM cards (GT-I9082).
