Samsung Galaxy Grand: 5-inch smartphone with budget performance

Samsung has announced a new “Google phone” Galaxy Grand. On the one hand, he has a huge 5-inch display, which is more typical of the flagship devices, and on the other - rather mediocre specifications, which means focus on the segment of the unit cost of smartphones.

Resolution 5-inch display is only 800 x 480 pixels. Other specifications include a dual-core processor with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory (possible extension for another 64 GB via microSD). In the presence of two chambers,  the main 8-megapixel and 2-megapixel front, modules Wi-Fi a / b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS/GLONASS, a standard set of sensors and battery 2100 mAh.

The smartphone works on 2G and 3G (HSPA + 21Mbit / s) under the operating system Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Its size - 143.5x76.9x9.6mm, weight - 162grams.

Galaxy Grand will be available in two versions: standard (GT-I9080) with support for two SIM cards (GT-I9082). The smartphone supports working with two applications in separate windows and familiar owners Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II shell functions TouchWiz: Direct Call, Smart Alert, Popup Video, S Voice and AllShare Play.

Price and Release date Samsung Galaxy Grand to be announced, but this information should be made public at the CES 2012, which will be held in Las Vegas from 8 to 11 January.
