MSI R7870 Hawk makes the graphics card

MSI enriches the catalog of products in the Hawk , for enthusiasts and overclockers, featuring graphics card R7870 Hawk , which inherits many features from the model R7970 Lighting. The MSI R7870 Hawk measuring 277 x 120 x 405 mm, it has 2GB of GDDR5 memory and has operating frequencies for GPU and memory respectively 1100MHz - 1200MHz (4800MHz effective).
The card uses the heatsink Twin Frozr IV equipped with two fans eighth mm; the radiant body is connected to the GPU and to the components of the PCB by means of two copper heatpipes 8 mm and three 6 mm. According rirefisce the manufacturer, this heatsink lowers operating temperatures of up to 15 ℃ compared to stock coolers, also enhancing the noise.
Going deeper into the technical features, the Radeon HD 7870 from MSI proposal presents well 8 + 2 phase power that ensures stability under overclocking important. Finally we point out the composite video output to a DVI port, one HDMI and two DisplayPort. No mention about the official date of its commercialization of the sale price.

Technology MSI SuperRAID achieves read rates 964 MB / s on a laptop

MSI has told about the technology SuperRAID, used in gaming notebooks, GT70 and GE70 . Interior of one of them can be considered in detail in the pictures. The notebook is equipped with a hard drive WD Scorpio Black 500GB, which serves as the primary data store, and thus module SuperRAID.
A module is a board with RAID-controller and two slots mSATA 6 Gb / s, each of which is set to SSD SanDisk U100 64GB. By themselves, the device characterized by the speed of reading 440 MB / s write 220 MB / s, but in a RAID 0 array pattern is much better.
Utility HDTune Pro 5.00 showed the following results when reading from SSD: maximum speed - 964.7 MB / s, average speed - 928.6 MB / s, the minimum rate - 843.3 MB / s. Average access time is equal to 0.368 ms, CPU - 9.2%. Module SuperRAID was bootable and contained in the OS itself and programs.
According to the manufacturer, such data rates can be considered a record for a gaming notebook.

MSI GT685 gaming notebook is equipped with a GeForce GTX 580M graphics card with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory

A year ago at CES 2011, MSI has shown a game GT680 notebook , called the "king of notebooks." Today, the company introduced its successor, equipped with the latest technology. According to the manufacturer, model GT685 score of 16,000 points in 3DMark Vantage and the bar broke 3000 points in 3DMark 2011.
In the configuration model is a quad-processor Intel Core i7-2630QM (2,0 GHz, 6 MB cache), up to 32 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 580M graphics card with 2 GB of memory GDDR5. Storage subsystem can be represented by two hard drive capacity of 640GB, 1TB or 1.5TB mode RAID0. Optionally can be installed SSD.
Display resolution of 15.6 inches is 1920 x 1080 pixels. The main body of the model are two-port USB 3.0 and USB 2.0, port eSATA, card reader memory, video outputs D-Sub, HDMI, optical drive that supports Blu-ray disc and web-camera that can record HD video at 720p / 30.
The set of interfaces includes adapters Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. The model is equipped with a sound system Dynaudio, consisting of a pair of speakers and a subwoofer with support for THX TruStudio Pro. In the notebook mounted LEDs that complement the gameplay bright illumination.
The work laptop in standalone mode provides battery of 7800 mAh. Model dimensions are 395 x 267 x 55 mm, weight - about 3.5 kg. Price new is not disclosed.
