Kingston has announced the world's first "stick" to 1TB [CES 2013]

Kingston introduced at CES 2013 stick with a record amount of memory to 1 TB. The most capacious "flash card" in the world equipped with a USB 3.0 connector, and is called HyperX Predator.

The physical dimensions of Kingston HyperX Predator standard, 72x27x21 mm, no significant differences from any other "flash" is not. A nice addition is the zinc metal housing that protects the device from external influences.

Of the maximum read and write speeds HyperX Predator are 240 MB / s read and 160 MB / s for writing. If you connect two USB 2.0 speed is 30 MB / s.

"USB Flash Drive" in volume 1 TB will be available in the first quarter. Data on the price yet, but it is known that the manufacturer gives to the device five years warranty. GameStick more than $ 100,000 in 30 hours on Kickstarter and continues to grow!

The project GameStick Exceeded in less than 30 hours the goal of $ 100,000 set for development. A truly remarkable achievement but was broken again seen that after 72 hours we have over $ 225,000 of funds raised, a figure twice that predicted and ready to increase significantly because there are still 25 days to donate.

After the success of Ouya  seems that the public and users are very interested in this type of product. Small console handsets based on Android and can offer excellent performance at very attractive price.

Although we can not know yet if Ouya will be a success as it has not yet been commercialized, for GameStick seems to open up a future very extremely good start and already started on the right foot. I do not have to wait for updates on the project and the first statements of the developers and designers.

Nvidia Tegra 4, leaked information, has 72 graphics cores

Leaked on the net the first image (and all information relating thereto) by Nvidia Tegra 4, the next product System-On-A-Chip Nvidia house. In other words is the processor that will be used on the next generation of smartphones and tablets Android (but not only).

It is a quad core processor (4 +1, as the previous Tegra 3), based on the Cortex A15 with ARM architecture. This is therefore a generation of completely different products, compared to the previous Tegra 3 quad core. This becomes even more obvious when we discover that the graphics processors increased from 12 to around 72.

The production process will then 28nm (the same of Snapdragon S4) and simplifying, we can say that this will ensure an energy saving definitely superior.

This support for resolutions up to 2660 x 1440 pixels, video playback 4K (the future, after the Full HD) and USB 3.0 ports. No mention of LTE connectivity, but will almost certainly be present and simply not mentioned in the leaked slide.

The challenge is now on: Samsung has unveiled its dual-core A15, the version quad-core is arriving ARM is already talked of an A50 (but not before 2014!). They begin the dance for Tegra 4: HTC is really the first to mount it?

SSD Goodbye, comes the super-fast Magnetic RAM

The use of NAND flash memory SSDs has definitely revolutionized the world of hard drives and storage devices for personal computers; better transfer rate, latency almost canceled IOPS values previously unthinkable, are characteristics which we can not now give up. But there is a faster memory of the Nand Flash and certainly cheaper, we speak of the "old" RAM.

The Random Access Memory is fast but has the drawback of not permanently save the data when you switch off the system. The company EverSpin however, seems to have the problem by developing the new Magnetic RAM (MRAM), a type of memory that can precisely to maintain the data when we remove current.

The company is preparing to send the first module called ST-MRAM, with a capacity of 64GB and frequency of 1600 MHz, in short, a sort of DDR3 module to be inserted in the classic slot present on motherboards. There is no info on prices, but we hope that, given the low cost of the company DDR3 does weigh too much novelty factor. source via - extremetech.com

Microsoft abandons the FAT file system in favor exFAT

After 35 years of loyal service, Microsoft has decided to retire the obsolete FAT file system, created for the first Operating Systems DOS and obviously used on early versions of Windows up to Millennium. FAT format is an 8-bit storage that had as many will know the limit to store files up to 4 GB and that quite some time showed its limits in the management of archives and large libraries.

The FAT file system will be replaced by younger exFAT , born in 2006 and free of the above problems, the only flaw is that Open Source Operating Systems such as Linux will not have compatibility with devices that will use it. Microsoft, however, seems to be willing to disclose exFAT, which is why today announced agreements with Sharp, Sigma, NextoDi, Black Magic and Atmos, manufacturers that will use the next-generation devices.

The ECS will support AMD Motherboards Memory Profile

ECS has announced to be the first manufacturer to implement on their motherboards support technology AMD Memory Profile (AMP). This new feature designed by AMD, which is reminiscent of the XMP from Intel, will optimize the performance, compatibility and efficiency of DDR3 platforms for the next generation. The 'company has worked closely with AMD and, according to earlier statements, will provide users with outstanding performance and ability to operate at very high frequencies limiting consumption.
The first to benefit from the AMP board is ECS ' A85F2-A Deluxe , then follow this new model, which surely will come with DDR3 memory kits optimized for the new technology. We think that with the new FX series processors (8300) we will see the first high-end solutions with frequencies that can compete with Intel Ivy Bridge.
Watching those first screenshot BIOS can not confirm the similarity between the AMP and XMP technology, when you enable the feature loads a default profile that, according to the model, automatically sets frequency, voltage and timing.

The new USB standard will transmit up to 100 watts of power

Group USB 3.0 Promoter Group, which includes Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Microsoft, Renesas, ST-Ericsson and Texas Instruments, adopted specification USB Power Delivery. This technology will make possible the transfer of the USB cable up to 100 watts of power (current capacity of USB 3.0 is limited to 900 mA current, which, at a voltage of 5 V, gives a maximum power of 4.5 W). This will allow to connect to the USB port monitors, printers, external storage size of 3.5 inches and much more. The realization of these opportunities will require special cables that can withstand the increased current.
An interesting and very useful feature of the new technology lies in the fact that the "direction" of the charge can be changed. For example, to your laptop via a USB cable connected to an external battery. While the laptop is charging from the mains and the battery is charging. If you turn off your mobile PC from the charger, you can switch the "direction" of the charge and the external battery will give energy notebook.

It also remain compatible with USB 2.0 and 3.0. Security will be responsible for the electronics. It will limit the power of using the old cables or connectors on one side. This does not allow to melt the old cable to connect compatible devices. Also, you can not worry about the device with low power consumption, the new cable connected to the new terminal.
As always, the promotion of such standards on the market is fairly slow, as it requires implementation in various areas of production. This new cables, connectors and updated, and support from the chipset. Therefore, when the direct component can be seen to support the new technology on the market, it is not known.  Source: USB 3.0 Promoter Group

Qualcomm introduces its quad-core SoC with Adreno 320 GPU: APQ8064 is his name

During Uplinq developer's conference , Qualcomm has introduced some new features that define the future of its mobile chipsets. We know that the company is currently working well in the states representing the technology often chosen for high-end LTE devices with its dual core MSM8960 SoC.
Qualcomm does not intend to limit itself to dual-core and takes out his trump card by presenting APQ8064 , his chip quad-core line of pro S4, introducing the new GPU called Adreno 320 . The cpu provides 4 cores Krait to 1.5 GHz at full speed while in the case of only one active core clock will increase to 1.7 GHz. Qualcomm SoC brings this new manufacturing process to 28 nm ahead of the competition with the benefits that such soluzine bring in terms of performance and greater energy efficiency.

Adreno 320 will also be used for the solution dual core currently in use MSM 8960. You can not currently envisage a performance comparison with rival Nvidia in mobile computing. An interesting video demo has been shown to give an idea of the solution combined with quad-core Adreno 320.
As you can see in the demo are full screen effects of realistic water, fire, multiple light sources and complex particle effects showing not only the potential of the GPU, but it is emphasized that the solution quad-core effects are clear in the image enhancement and overall performance in the field of gaming.

The integration of radio and other components together to processor production at 28 nm Qualcomm makes the proposal attractive from a performance standpoint and we're curious to see it in the next-generation devices. We know how Snapdragon processors will be the safe choice in the new Windows Phone 8 , but we will see developments in the top range definitely on Android. by
