LG "abandons" spotlight on Android Phone for Windows

Bad news for the Windows Phone: LG Electronics today in an interview with the Korea Herald reported the absence of plans for the Microsoft OS for the foreseeable future.
The reason is simple: the manufacturer wants to focus on Android for new models after realizing that

The amount of Windows Phone sold in the global market is not significant

LG ensures that the partnership with Microsoft still enjoys good health, but the plan to focus on Windows Phone did not work (although there seems to date from 2009, the company is "focused" on this very OS). If the poor sales of the platform plus the loss to the producer (in a positive return only now after nearly two years) and the resulting reduction in market share against Samsung and HTC, it was easy to imagine a move like this.

The interview with the Herald, however, continued reassurance by LG will continue its efforts on research and development for the Microsoft system.
From these words it can be assumed then a long pause where LG will not launch any Windows smartphone, probably jumping the launch of Windows Phone 8 and waiting for a "silent" eventual success of the OS made in Redmond.

LG then leave in the hands of Nokia, Samsung and HTC (the main) the fate of Windows Phone, a major loss for the mobile OS whereas the cheapest devices were precisely those of the Korean manufacturer.

WP 7.5 Mango soon available to compatible devices

Windows Phone 7.5 Mango launched a while ago, and a handful of smartphones have found on the market with the new OS. In his blog, Microsoft said the update should be available already, or soon to all compatible devices.
Windows Phone 7.5 Mango is a big boost from the previous Windows Phone 7, and many manufacturers have begun to show great interest in the new OS. In addition to phones with Mango's on the market so the more mature smartphone with Windows Phone 7 get the update, provided they are compatible with the hardware.
Thus, it is "100 percent fit" phones that will receive the update over the world, depending on the phone and the choice of carrier. LG Optimus 7 is a phone to get up as an example, who has just received the new update and it is therefore a lot more going on.
This may still be seen as an advantage of the Microsoft Windows Phone, but also Apple iOS, we can draw an analogy with. Apple has a tough control over their hardware, and Microsoft has been very clear and definite guidelines on how a phone equipped with everything from screen size, resolution to the selection of the system processor. This makes it much easier, more efficient - and thus faster to provide their customers with the latest update of the operating system.
To have an almost closed ecosystem is not always evil.
Other things are for Android-based smartphones, surf boards, where it is not uncommon for consumers to wait several months for the next update. Google recently launched Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich and while many have already launched drives to get this, nothing will happen until early next year. But we must not forget that Google gives its partners the full freedom to do whatever they want with a new product as opposed to Microsoft.
