Sony has begun the Roll Out ICS 4.0.4 update for the range "Mini" out of the device in 2011.In particular, the updates are directed to  Xperia mini, mini pro and Walkman Live that will see the latest distribution of Android with some interesting news.

The Roll-Out should be initiated in all markets via the PC Suite Sony. Besides this also signal the release of Android 4.0.4 update for Ray and a minor update for Xperia S occurred in the past few hours.

Ice Cream Sandwich for HTC Sensation XL Start the update

Only a few days ago 'we showed the timing of updates toIce Cream Sandwich for HTC devices  and get here on time for an update expected at this time (it was predicted between April and June), namely for the Sensation XL .

The update is available via OTA (Over The Air) and is predictably large (almost 200 mb), and in addition to the firmware that comes to version 2.31.401.2 (Android 4.0.3) updates the Sense to version 3.6 . Since the update became available only in the last hour, if you've already received in the comments tell us your impressions about the improvements in the firmware (or hypothetical problems created by the update).

HTC publish the complete list of devices that will be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich

If we preached calm in recent months about the timing of the upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich, it is obvious that the more time passes and more user requests become insistent and legitimate, especially for those models for which have not yet heard anything from Official: HTC hands then put forward (a little 'late?) publishingthe list of promoted to Android 4 and rejected.

The list refers to American models, it includes so many that we do not find, and also includes terminals have already been upgraded:

To be Determined (by the end of August)
Amaze HTC 4G

For the record, we have included the full list, highlighting and translating those of our interest, though in reality more than the present, as often happens, outstanding were absent, for example, Desire, Desire Z  and Wildfire / Wildfire S , but also  ChaCha , Salsa and tablet Flyer , has already confirmed that the company will remain the current version of Android, so if you thought to an innocent omission is unfortunately not the case.

MK802: Pennine-new PC with Android from $ 74

Just a few days ago we told you about Cotton Candy , a PC with Android in the size of a little key enclosed USB, and now here to peep his dangerous rival, which attacks the "market" with a very competitive price of only $ 74.

MK802 is a name much less empathetic of Cotton Candy, but if you overcome this slight initial impasse will end up in your hands (it really must be said) a very promising subject, which incidentally is already on sale now  (as opposed to rival who has been postponed to July), although it is not clear who makes it.
8.89 long, 1.27 wide and often only 3.5 cm the MK802 certainly not going to raise the lift biceps, although this does not mean that its interior is devoid of "muscles":
  • CPU single-core A10 Allwinner based on ARM Cortex A8 1.5 GHz
  • 512 MB of RAM
  • 4 GB of internal memory expandable via microSD
  • USB host (for connect keyboard and mouse maybe)
  • microUSB
  • HDMI
  • Wi-Fi  802.11b / g
  • Android 4.0 preinstalled, but also compatible with other OS like Ubuntu
Pity about the lack of some kind of remote control, but at this price is also difficult to get to demand anything.
If you are interested, therefore, the MK802 is available now to order directly from China , complete with free shipping .  Source: Visit

Ice Cream Sandwich brings GalaxyICS Project Galaxy on ARMv6

He discussed both the (non) update to Ice Cream Sandwich for Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab  , but Samsung has left behind many other models, from which the truth perhaps no one expected much matter; to remedy this neglect comes now GalaxyICS project called, promises to bring the experience of Android smartphones ARMv6 4 on the Korean manufacturer. More or less free.

As suggested in fact the screenshot above, the authors ask the goodness of a donation of at least $ 1 to advance their own servers and then the release of the ROM.
The affected devices are:

  • Galaxy Ace S5830
  • Galaxy Fit S5670
  • Next Galaxy  S5570
  • Galaxy Light / Spica I5700 (still no ROM)

We have not personally tried the firmware, so we can not vouch for their goodness (or not) but you can find a detailed changelog in the specific pagefor each model .

ICS: where are we with the official update?

Although ICS has been presented for the past 6 months, yet there are not many devices sold last year can boast the official update Android 4.0.3 / 4. Many smartphones come out this year have come on the market with new distribution, but the top range for 2011 still seems a long way. We can see through a series of tables, the situation update of available devices in Europe and abroad.

LG Optimus Dual for Ice Cream Sandwich will be available by the third quarter

Last December we had confirmed that LG would have updated their Optimus Dual to Ice Cream Sandwich , the latest operating system from Google, but unfortunately since then no more news was leaked in an official way, well, on time are now been confirmed by LG.
The long-awaited update then, come, according to a statement from LG's Facebook page , by the end of the third quarter of this year , ie before the end of the summer, after the long wait even users can finally Optimus Dual console taking advantage of the user experience and all the new features that Android has introduced 4.
On the other hand, note that if any of the owners of LG Optimus Dual Ice Cream Sandwich would have to prove it can do so thanks to the team CyanogenMod that since February  this device supports  and that very recently (on April 21st) published ' latest build for the device in question.

CyanogenMod 9 new lockscreen for incoming

The lockscreen ring you unlock directly to specific phone functions are nothing new, there are several ROMs and mods that allow it, to say nothing of interfaces such as the Sense of that HTC has made it his boast some time, but Android for the purists as the team CyanogenMod it is still a novelty.

The lockscreen you see above is indeed in the works and will soon be included in the official release of CyanogenMod 9 , to make it even more convenient and quick access to common functions of our smartphone, or at least to those who prefer.
Apparently the news was greeted very positively by the community, at least judging by the number of Google +1 +  and although it is certainly not a revolutionary feature, it is a small step for a firmware that is always greater. And you were what you would like included in your next Cyano? Source: Visit

Ice Cream Sandwich arrives April 20 on the Galaxy S 2 SFR

SFR has just received the information: the Galaxy S 2 should receive pack (read: start receiving) the updated Android Ice Cream Sandwich on April 20 , in a few days.

Last March we publish a grip of this update on the bare terminals, by cons in this case (SFR), unclear whether the ROM will be exactly the same, you should find SFR few applications pre-installed, for example.
It should be visible in KIES that date, pull out your USB cables!

Even Vodafone UK has officially announced the Android 4.0.3 update for Samsung S2 Galaxy . Vodafone is the first operator to bring the latest Android distribution of S2 after seeing him debut a few weeks ago in Poland and other European markets.

The update Vodafone was obviously the best optimized to work with the operator red, but you can install it through alternative channels such as Odin.

Here is Huawei Mediapad 7 ICS 4.0.3 Official RC ready for download

Waiting to see the official release by the manufacturer, comes a new leaked version of Ice Cream Sandwich for Huawei MediaPad 7 , a tablet of the best value for money out in 2011 and still available. The update that we announce today should be the RC version, which is the official release candidate after the conclusion of the tests and approved the update. Who reported the update says:

Huawei did an excellent job in tuning ICS, it is very fast, stable and Incorporates some of the latest features! Flash is very simple and obviously at your own risk. Download now.

Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0.4 would cause problems on some network

Android 4.0.4 was released for several days for all owners of Galaxy Nexus , but according to several reports on various forums it seems that after the upgrade you present some problems of signal coupling network. Specifically, the problem arises when the smartphone is switched into sleep mode and the processor speed drops below a certain threshold even disabling the network signal.
For a subsequent reversal of the normal mode the network is still unreachable the user to make calls and send SMS. The problem can be temporarily solved by setting a minimum speed of the processor clock or totally disabling sleep mode, obviously at the expense of battery backup. Users report that the problem only exists in the build 4.0.4 and returning to the previous Android version 4.0.2 the problem disappears.
Google now has not given any comment on, however, let us know if it is presented to you that this bug can be quite annoying in certain situations.

Android 4.0 ICS officially available in advance of a day for all TF101G (3G)

In advance of about 24 hours compared to forecasts of the release of Android 4.0.3 for Asus TF101 with a 3G module , Asus has started the roll-out in these hours also confirmed by several comments on the official Facebook pages by some users .

Initially blocked for some problems encountered in the Wi-Fi version, it is finally time to update via FOTA for all owners of this release. For those who had not yet received notification of the update, try to force the search, once connected to the Internet via settings> information on the tablet> System Update . Good update, and finally to all ICS!.

Gingerbread Ice Cream Sandwich vs. Android: pros and cons according to Sony

After confirming the upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich for the entire 2011 range of online Xperia interesting statements coming directly from the developer section of Sony that clearly describe what the advantages and disadvantages in adopting the new operating system. The agonizing wait for the release of version 4.0 may in fact weaken slightly for all terminals Xperia owners who can not rely on a hardware exception.
Sony does not want to play down expectations for the update that will bring several new features on the devices, but is keen to stress that the level of stability achieved by Gingerbread is really great and not comparable to ICS, obviously still immature.
The Xperia range 2011 has an average of 1-1.4GHz CPU and 512MB of Ram , the resources that allow upgrades but also require an optimization that does not preclude good performance. Ice Cream Sandwich is bringing many new features as seen in from a new look, a UI based on Holo, Face Unlock for terminals with front camera, a book that has more contact information and much more.
This is in contrast to a system designed around devices like the Galaxy Nexus (SoC TI dual-core processor with 1Gb of Ram), hence the difficulty in adapting the Qualcomm SoC (smartphone Xperia 2011) with specifications mentioned above, which show no doubt a consuming more resources than is the case in Gingerbread:

Many App use a significantly greater amount of RAM in ICS. For example, in the web browser and is particularly evident in our measurements is shown using a 20/30 Mb in more than Gingerbread. In our studies we have also seen that the transactions in writing and reading of the SQL database gets more time in the ICS, which slows down applications.
Another important change is related to ' hardware acceleration , supported in the latest distribution from the GPU which provides an interface more smoothly with a greater demand for Ram:

Tests on our applications have shown that such settings that uses 1-2Mb of RAM more and requires more time in starting with HW acceleration. Another effect is that it can in some cases contribute to the reduction of battery backup.

To overcome these drawbacks Sony is equipping an Ice Cream Sandwich Performance Assistant , which will aim to keep an eye on the exploitation of resources and leave us to easily close the instances unnecessary, but can not do anything, for example, the acceleration hardware when playing videos that may adversely affect the autonomy compared to Gingerbread.

Android 4.0 on arrival in the U.S. next week on Motorola Razr and Razr Maxx

Some weeks ago the popular Motorola roadmap Journal of updates to ICS on many of the devices being marketed in several countries, preparing the start of the roll-out from April until the summer. By the dates here come the first details on the release of Android 4.0, starting with the U.S. operator Verizon getting ready with the first release.
According to a reliable source of updates about the operator Verizon will start from next week, precisely on Wednesday, April 4 unless last-minute delays through over the air and focus on the Motorola Razr and Motorola Razr Maxx in both denominations of 16 and 32GB.
If everything will be confirmed via press release from Motorola itself, may not take long before it is disseminated worldwide version also dedicated to our market.

Preview of Sony Xperia Arc S Android 4.0.3 (video)

Today is definitely the day for updates beta of Ice Cream Sandwich . After Acer products, here comes Xperia Arc S , the former Sony Ericsson device with the new update 4.0.3 Android seems to have permanently lost the Ericsson logo from the system operational . An update from the manufacturer officially shown that it is currently finalizing the development for future release in the next month.
Fluidity is undoubtedly great and the processor from 1.4 GHz single core associated with 512MB of RAM does not seem to have problems in managing the entire interface. The customization Sony is also very nice and fits well with the new features in the latest Android distribution. The following table updates the ICS for the Xperia range 2011:

Sony Ericsson:
  • S Arc (March 2012)
  • Arc (April / May 2012)
  • Neo / Neo V (March 2012)
  • Xperia Pro  (April / May 2012)
  • Xperia Ray  (March 2012)
  • Xperia Play  (April / May 2012)
  • Xpera Mini and Mini Pro  (April / May 2012)
  • Active Xperia  (April / May 2012)
  • Xperia Live Walkman  (April / May 2012)
