Nokia fell out of the top five manufacturers of smartphones, Apple in second place

The research firm IDC released a report on the study of the market of mobile phones in the III quarter. The biggest changes were Nokia. The Finnish company fell out of the five largest suppliers of smartphones for the first time in 14 years passed forward Canadian RIM, ZTE and China Taiwan HTC.

In the smartphone segment leader Samsung, whose share for the year increased from 22.7% to 31.3%. Android has received 41% of the tablet market share iPad - 57%

Experts research firm Strategy Analytics concluded that the operating system Android has strengthened its position in the tablet market. This was the conclusion Apple after the publication of the report for the IV quarter of 2012 fiscal year.

According to analysts, the share of the American giant computer electronics on the market of tablet computers has dropped from 68.3% to 56.7%, while the share of Android-tablet conversely increased from 29.2% a year ago to 41%. Recent sales grew from 5 to 10.2 million units.

As for Microsoft, then its already small share of 2.3% down to 1.6%, although the announcement of the tablet Surface can still rectify the situation. The statistics take into account all the tablets manufacturers using Android and Windows, respectively. The share of other operating systems dropped to 0.4%.

While Android-tablets and nearly won market share from Apple, individually none of the manufacturers do not come close to iPad in terms of sales. Observers believe that the debut of iPad mini, the success of which they no doubt will allow the company to regain some lost ground. Total for the quarter was issued 24.7 million tablets. This is 43.4% more than 17.2 million gadgets shipped in the III quarter of 2011.
