Apple wants to patent the center notifications

Apple has "copied" Android notifications, or is it the opposite? If the apple was granted a patent that required, we can also assist in this small space-time paradox. That iOS notifications are "inspired" to those of Android is obvious (and is also good for goodness sake, we will not be here to complain of those who have been inspired by those to thing), but it seems Cupertino wants to put the hat on . But first things first.

In 2009 I applied for a patent for the currently noted notification bar of android. a number of years when Apple introduced its "notification center" and currently has seen fit do constant thing: raise the patent.

The notifications Android, although there has been enriched over time, have remained virtually the same, especially in the method of use and interaction, or a swipe down from the status bar higher. The version of Apple behaves substantially in a similar manner, with obvious aesthetic differences aside, due mostly to the presence of small widget inside it, and to the possibility of also receiving pop-up notifications.

How is it then that two patents essentially very similar could live we do not know (but if you already have the solution to the apple does not violate the Mountain View, anything is possible), as it is not obvious that this is a prelude to a cause he's ridiculous and that I really do not imagine there not so likely to be achieved, given that the dates of the patents are all on the side of Google.

No scaremongering in short, the most of the comforting realization that for once Apple came in second in the race to the patent. And we hope that this is really all there is to say about it.

Apple iPod nano clip to a head with a double feature?

The Cupertino company has an ongoing "factory" of patents so that, in these days, were submitted ideas for the introduction of new iPod nano. Apple, in fact, seems interested in bringing back a clip on future iPod nano that could have a double function : that of selection Bureau "quick-and-easy" and the synchronization of the media library.
The concept, presented as a patent, is entitled "Portable Device With A User Clip Having Electrical Thermals" , and describes the different types of use of clips on the device, which can act both as a common point of coupling, both from the point of recharge to synchronization.

In particular, the patent includes the illustrations showing a device very similar in appearance to the current iPod nano sixth generation , already equipped with, among other things, of a rear clip.
The novelty, therefore, would be the application of electrical contacts that allow the clip to the device, once connected to a dock appropriate, to recharge and synchronize data with a PC or a Mac, avoiding the use of traditional dock connector to 30 pin now standard Apple.

As usual, the patents filed by Apple may also never see the light, but in this case, if the idea goes ahead, future iPod nano could exploit this technology and avoid the adoption of the 30-pin dock connector , freeing up interior space for the possible inclusion of new hardware .  by

Apple appears poised to propose an alternative to Google Glass

In these last days has spoken repeatedly keynote, hosted by Google, during which were presented to the public, among which we find many new applications of Google Drive , and iPhone OS for Google Chrome , the new Android 4.1, the brand new Asus Nexus 7 and a small preview of the new glasses Glass Warehouse .

A Google solution is undoubtedly fascinating and points to a future very similar to what we are usually accustomed to seeing in movies, where the technology is not only "used" but also "worn." The Glass Project, apparently , not only fascinates us users, but also companies directly competing in Big G which include also the one in Cupertino .

Many blogs have pointed out, Apple is certainly not remained indifferent to this news, much to record and be approved, last Thursday, a new patent that would cover just  " a display that can be worn by a person to have information displayed on a panel in front of their eyes " . In addition to the patent does not have more information about its image (the one you see in the opening article addresses a simple concept), for now we only know that Apple is working on what could be the product "most discussed" the next year and in direct competition with Google glass.

Apple prepares an injunction against the Samsung Galaxy S3 could create big problems for Samsung

Apple has returned to the attack against Samsung and, after an apparent truce of some months, has filed several injunctions against the latest products released by the Korean Nexus as the Galaxy, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Galaxy S3. Just this terminal is the next goal that Apple intends to strike in its uphill battle against Android and the alleged infringement of patents.
The recent victories in court have been met with Apple to continue its legal battle against the main rival in the market, Samsung, targeting the Korean company's latest creation, the Samsung S3 Galaxy. Initially, Apple has tried to block sales of the terminal with an injunction presented before its U.S. launch last month, without success.

In any case, however, the Samsung S3 Galaxy remains a prime target for a lawsuit with Apple, and an eventual victory that block sales of the device could create big problems with Samsung reportedly Topeka Capital analyst Brian White Markets in a note to investors.

The recent success of Apple in court is based primarily on the basis of four patents :

  • The patent number 5,946,647 for a "system to perform actions on a computer-generated data structure";
  • The patent number 8,074,172 for "Method, system and user interface to provide suggestions predictive text, or text";
  • The patent number 8,046,721 which describes a system for "the release of a device with the use of gesture or with an image of unlock";
  • The patent number 8,086,604 for a "universal interface for the acquisition of information in a computer system" (although the latter has not been used by Judge Lucy Koh who decided in favor of Apple).
In short, a new chapter in the battle between the two giants was opened and this time, seems to be the decisive one for the future of both companies and the global ICT market. by
