Official Blog Update Progress in the Development of CyanogenMod 9

After two months of silence developers of CyanogenMod , the most popular Android ROM independently of the whole scene, wrote a post on the official blog that clarifies the current status of work and the great difficulties against which we are stumbling.
As might be expected from the jump CyanogenMod 7.2 (based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread) expectation version 9 (based on ICS Release 4.0) implies a range of issues from the missing drivers , an objectively more difficult obstacles to be overcome:
For many devices have their hands tied . In CM9 we have developed some solutions but we are still stuck on some subsystem as the room.
The team is taking on new release also everything worked fine on version 7 but that was not used according to the real potential:
We hope to achieve a good balance between features more suited to geeks and user experience for everyone. We want your smartphone or tablet seems out of the factory with the CM9
Already many terminals as the Nexus S, the Galaxy and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Nexus possess some discrete versions of the new CyanogenMod and many others will soon receive from the entire series of smartphones Samsung chip Exynos  (S2 Galaxy for example) as well as devices with Qualcomm MSM8660 chipsets and 7 × 30. It is not clear what will happen on the most problematic hardware devices including the HTC QSD8x50 Ages, Nexus etc. The support will continue but at the time for the official releases seem longer.
