Pericom Semiconductor Company today announced mass production of chips families USB 3.0 ReDriver. These products are intended for use in electronic devices with USB 3.0 support and can increase the length of the connection without compromising signal quality.
The use of chip USB 3.0 ReDriver allows developers to electronics, not only use long tracks on the circuit board or wires inside the device. According to the company, improved waveform ensures stable detection of connected peripherals and work via USB 3.0.
The list of applications includes a USB 3.0 ReDriver laptops and desktop computers, workstations and servers, docking stations and external storage devices, networking equipment and consumer electronics devices, where everything is more common USB 3.0. According to Pericom, the use of USB 3.0 ReDriver or similar devices should be about 5% of cases.
The advantages of USB 3.0 ReDriver manufacturer assigns low power consumption (using a single power supply voltage 3.3 V), no need for an external synchronization signal and programmable equalizer curve signal. The family includes devices for two (PI2EQX7742, $ 1,95) and one (PI3EQX7741, PI3EQX7502, $ 1,18) port, as well as for a single channel (PI3EQX7745, $ 0,99). For PI3EQX7745 selected housing type TQFN size 3 x 3 mm. All these chips are available now.
Simultaneously, the manufacturer reported that the board Pericom Add-On Card 7741 which uses a chip PI3EQX7741 family of USB 3.0 ReDriver, successfully passed all tests are USB-IF, and received a certificate of compatibility SuperSpeed USB.
