Late last week, Taiwan's online resource Digitimes reported that Apple phone next generation will get a brand new technology of touch screen. According to the newspaper, referring to information sources in the environment of suppliers, the new iPhone will use touch screen made of technology “in-cell”.
Analyst at KGI Securities Ming-Chih Kuo claims that the use of such technology touch panels, will reduce the thickness of the next iPhone to 0.44 mm. Touchscreens "in-cell" noticeably thinner made by technology "on-cell", as they touch sensors built into the color filters, and are not a separate layer above them. Therefore, the new generation iPhone will be thinner than their predecessors. Among the other advantages of this approach to the creation of touchscreens - more rapid response to the touch screen and lighter weight.
According to the analyst, reasoning about the future model of "apple" flagship, reducing the size of the battery and the use of a metal surface, rather than glass, will further reduce the size of the device. In particular, the thickness of the sixth-generation iPhone may reach 7.90 mm, 9.3 mm instead of the current, said Kuo. This will allow the Apple smartphone to better compete with phones from other manufacturers.
Recall supply touch panels "in-cell" will be engaged in Sharp and Toshiba. Sharp will manufacture these parts on the lines of 5.5G, and TMD plans to use touch panels for the production of "in-cell" Line 6G. Apple commissioned by Japanese vendors will begin production of such components in the second quarter, while the new iPhone will be released during the third quarter of this year.
