Smart cover for the iPad will receive a flexible touch screen

United States Patent and Trademark Office announced a new U.S. patent for Apple, which sheds light on the prospects of a popular accessory for the iPad. Based on published information, Cupertino maker expects to make the cover of Smart Cover is not just a passive element in the device, as part of the design of high-tech "apple" Tablet PC.

 

The original accessory,  presented in conjunction with iPad 2 , protects the screen from damage, while maintaining the shape of the tablet, and can easily be transformed into a convenient stand for typing or watching video.

As planned by the developers of Apple, Smart Cover will receive second-generation touch-sensitive surface, located on the inner part of the enhancement. If you find a tablet on a table in the upright position the cover can act as a virtual keyboard.

 

In addition, at least one of the four parts of the artwork will be touch screen, transmitting background information: the number of messages, emails, etc. The device will be powered and communicate with a gadget with a special connector on one of the side faces of the iPad.

I must say that the idea of ​​Apple more than worthy, but it could be years before the company will release a working version of this device.
