Company ABBYY announced a mobile application OCR-TextGrabber + Translator, installed in the Apple iPhone and allows the use of smartphone as a multifunctional handheld scanner.
The software automatically extracts information from various sources (eg books, magazines, advertisements, schedules, photographed by a camera iPhone) and recognizes text in images that are stored in memory. A key feature of the product is the ability to quickly convert printed texts fragments recognized by the service Google Translate.
