Intel launches Core i7-2700K with prices higher than 2600K

There has been talk of Intel Core i7-2700K for a while, which we thought would be a direct replacement for 2600K in price. But now, on launch day, it appears that the faster 100 MHz processor is slightly more expensive than 2600K. It has however lowered the price of three models in entry-level segment.

Intel Core i7-2700K will not, as expected, with some massive changes and has four processing cores with Hyper-Threading Technology Hyper-Threading, 8MB L3 cache with official support for DDR3 1333rd The integrated graphics chip may be the same, the HD 3000 at 850 MHz that can go up to 1.35 GHz in Turbo. Finally, will the processor with a clock frequency of 3.5 GHz and 3.9 GHz in Turbo - that is the only difference between 2700K to 2600K at 100 MHz.

Core i7-2600K currently costs just under 2600 SEK ($ 317) as the search engine PriceSpy, while the Core i7-2700K just been listed as expected to lie somewhere above 2700 SEK ($ 332) which may be seen as a very marginal difference in the price segment . Intel usually normally replace one model with a slightly faster in this case is 2700K. But given how AMD Bulldozer was, they probably see no reason to lower their prices in this segment, but rather can make a smaller increase.

Somewhere where AMD has good contrast, the lower end, with its Llano processors and price pressure Phenom II / Athlon II. Here, Core i3-2120 a decrease from 138 to 117 dollars, Pentium G850 86-75 dollars and Pentium G630 75-64 dollars. Price differences here are expected to be around at around $ 100 for Pentium processors, while Core i3-2120 is expected to decline by about SEK 150.
