It was August 29, 2011 when, with some precision, what would you anticipate the Galaxy Nexus smartphone that until then had not really been anticipated, and whose name it was evinced by some Samsung official pages. Name which subsequently became Prime Galaxy Nexus Nexus | Nexus Prime: This is how it could be!
After a year we go back to talking about Nexus range and we do it right on the presentation of the first Tablet Google, the Nexus 7. If the first tablet is actually a possible 10-inch version could arrive by the end of 2012, as will be the new smartphone Nexus 4?
The Name and Manufacturer:
After the Nexus One, thanks to the Galaxy range of Samsung, the Nexus has seen in a clear reference to the name of the manufacturer. Nexus Nexus S and Galaxy are in fact the last two devices came out, Samsung products and recognizable even in the name. The Tablet has obviously kept Nexus adding the suffix to the name the number of inches and becoming Nexus 7.
We therefore consider some alternatives but the future will be exactly the smartphone Nexus fourth in the series and probably will not display more than 5 inches (or rather will "definitely" between 4.0 and 4.9). So a name or Four Nexus Nexus 4 could unite under one umbrella is the number of inches is the fourth smartphone Nexus ever. This hypothesis of course, we do not like too much, but it is easy to get lost in fanciful names and then let you imagination to suggest alternatives consistent.
The producer may again be Samsung. Google will not choose Motorola to avoid favoritism, why not choose Asus has focused on the smartphone market, could return to HTC, producer of the first Nexus, or looking at Huawei still knocking at the door of Sony. To date, more practical alternative may be Samsung and Sony, but we prefer to choose the first for two reasons:
- Samsung is the only company currently able to create a completely home-made device in no time, with all possible resources and creating a product like Google wants will have access to all means.
- In the Android source code repository we have already seen a mysterious "Android-3.4-exynos" within which there are references to Samsung SoC Exynos 5250 | aosp.schiznik.net
These two factors lead us to believe again that Samsung is still the producer today, apart from aesthetics, offering the best software experience of custom Android device.
Aesthetics:
Continuing the assumption that Samsung will be the producer, aesthetically the new Nexus 4 could be similar to the Galaxy S3 with a soft, rounded and enjoyable. If we think about all the Nexus created lines have always had very soft, no angle pronounced and an appealing and not too risky. The Nexus S is the only truly curved trio but on an aesthetic level we are on similar experiences.
So a thin device with extra-large screen display with thin edges and of course the screen buttons that contain the overall dimensions.
Features:
Here we find solace in the repository to which we referred before, and knowing now the policy and the Google Nexus range, one might expect an extremely powerful, but certainly not superior to devices already on the market or coming later this year. Thus, formulating a realistic, the Nexus 4 could have:
- SoC Samsung Exynos 5250, dual-core Cortex-A15 with 1.7 Ghz
- Mali-604 GPU T
- 2GB of Ram
- 4.8-inch screen with 1280 × 800 pixel resolution HD Super AMOLED
- NFC
- LTE / GSM depending on market
- 8 Megapixel Full HD with flash
- 2 megapixel front camera
- Battery from 2300 mAh
- 32GB of internal memory
- Android 4.2 with Kernel possible 3.4 (and here the hypothesis is more speculation than anything else)
Operating System:
Google never stops, we know, and although Jelly Bean has just arrived, Android 4.1.1 is already a reality and soon grow even closer to the distribution of subversion 4.2. The name should be with continuing the initial K has always held classical alphabetic sequence. Guessing words, or other hard candy and think Android is surely smiling Kebab and the possibilities are so many. Key Lime is perhaps the most reasonable hypothesis at the moment but also in this case it is better to speak of pure speculation that realistic assumptions.
The output:
Nexus 4 could be submitted as early as next October even though marketing may only be starting in November in the USA as often happens. We remain however as of mid-autumn period of presentation with an American release for Christmas. In Europe we hope to arrive at similar times although the Nexus line has always had a U.S. debut to date.
Prices of course in line with competitors and with the segment top range. Between 500 and 600 € is quite obvious to think of seeing the Nexus 4.
All this of course is the result of assumptions, analysis possible, speculation and a bit of fantasy. A Nexus 4 is configured so believable, possible and even probable. Samsung might still be bored and we like better than a Sony also because the manufacturer has proven to do well in this 2012 and our confidence was definitely conquered. The problem is that a company has the resources and Google is always moving at the last minute to commission its own products and in this case, broad shoulders, and many internal divisions could make a difference.
You would like to imagine a Nexus or so different?
