What emerges is one stylish, beautiful, nice and compact despite the large 4.6-inch screen.

Equipped with a processor Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz with 1GB of RAM, outperforms S Xperia although a device is not vastly different to general characteristics. We always have a HD display, a 13-megapixel camera slightly higher and, in addition to the 16GB of internal memory, MicroSD support, we find the much acclaimed.

A taste of Jelly Bean on Sony Xperia S (video)

Slowly but surely the community is bringing a lot of Jelly Bean Android smartphone. The ICS upgrades have certainly speeded up the transition from previous to new distribution, but also for the device to stop Gingerbread or Honeycomb results are very interesting.
Today we offer a video showing the CM10 Jelly Bean on Sony Xperia S as part of Team Development  Project FreeXperia.  Obviously it's still an Alpha version, which still shows that Sony devices are now also well received by the community with no official update very quickly.

Sony Xperia Mint is shown in the first image: presentation at IFA 2012?

Finally after so many speculations and rumors, it comes out of one of the most anticipated smartphone enthusiasts, Sony Xperia Mint LT30p although still in prototype form whose changes could still affect the design and the software part. From the first analysis on the design, it seems that Sony wanted a little distance from the series NXT but also by the new Xperia GX , with a front part essential that recalls in some ways the good old HD2 with a filing down glimpsed also on the new Xperia type while the rear shell plastic finish resembles the Sony Xperia X10 .

Particular attention to the weight that is much lighter than the Sony Xperia S and with smaller dimensions, all to the advantage of an easier use with one hand also favored by the positions of the buttons are all located on the right side of the terminal (Power and volume rocker ). With regard to the various inputs available and there is a microUSB port, microSD slot and microSIM, 3.5 mm jack for headphones in the upper body and finally the absence of physical buttons-style Android Ice Cream Sandwich / Jelly Bean.

The camera is provided by a sensor 13 MPXl located in the rear and flanked by a small LED flash, size does not seem to be particularly cumbersome as can be seen alongside the device to a Samsung Galaxy S3, Sony has managed to remain within acceptable measures and indeed even lower than the competitor.

Interesting news for the software part, thanks to its "Small apps" you can place certain widgets (calculator, voice recorder etc. ...) opposite each other at the top of the homescreen, quickly and always at hand . Here we recall for completeness the technical characteristics of the Xperia Mint.

Sony Xperia Go: a video is put to the test the incredible strength!

Xperia Go Sony is the new smartphone aimed at users extremes, sports and all the people who do not have a particular care of your device and maybe working and operating under specific conditions that do not allow you to protect your device.
Xperia Go is therefore designed to withstand knocks, falls, water immersion, dust, seine, crushing and more. In the following video you will see the quality and strength of the body.
Considering the tests done, we do not congratulate Sony for the robustness of Go, which does not compromise the aesthetics and indeed, at first sight, Xperia Go looks like a normal phone without any special anti-shock or anti water.

Sony Xperia SL, an enhanced version of the Xperia S coming?

An updated and enhanced by Xperia S by the end of the year? Judging by some recent evidence uncovered online seems that Sony has in development an alleged Sony Xperia SL , refresh the model launched earlier this year related to the model LT26ii .

Just as it would lead us to believe that its existence is almost certain because it is labeled as S Xperia LT26i, the two smartphone may have much in common. Other assumptions show instead Xperia SL can only be a variant of the device marketed in our country but for the Asian market or even a model same but with 4G connectivity.

Given the presence of a wide range of products presented by over the past two months for our own market, a further review of previous models could lead to confusion in the consumer and consequently to provide inadequate support to device, although so far Sony has behaved very well with the updates to the current distribution.

Sony also has its Google Glass thanks to a patent

For now it is just a patent filed by Sony on to something very similar to the futuristic Glass Warehouse, demonstrating not only the home of Mountain View to be the only interested in making a project like this and although there are movies or evidence of actual product as shown by Google, it is clear that Sony is moving towards the same path.

Compared to the competition, Sony wanted to put more attention on the visual to see how we can be divided into two separate lenses allowing a view and a concentration of about double. According to the patent is also a kind of connectivity with a clock allowing access to the Internet and exchange data in real time, exchange of tag with friends through the eyes and more likely to see you soon with maybe even the first images of the prototypes.

Sony does not seem to want to be under the monopoly could be created in this sector in the near future and if Apple , according to rumors, is developing his glasses actually increased competition not fail to come on very soon.

Start Roll Out of Ice Cream Sandwich Xperia Arc S, Xperia Ray and Xperia Neo V in Europe [Video]

Good news for all owners of  Xperia Arc S ,  Xperia Neo V and  Xperia Ray. Sony has in fact started the Roll Out of Ice Cream Sandwich updates for these devices starting from Northern Europe. So early as a few weeks ago, the manufacturer has complied with the notice given to the Android 4.0 update.
Recall that the Xperia range of other devices in 2011, as announced by Sony, will see the update in late May and early June. We are talking about the arc Xperia, Xperia PLAY, neo Xperia, Xperia mini, mini pro Xperia, Xperia pro, active, and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Live with Walkman.
The 2012 models instead Xperia S, Xperia U, Xperia Sun and Xperia P, will be updated in summer as in previous communications.

Gingerbread Ice Cream Sandwich vs. Android: pros and cons according to Sony

After confirming the upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich for the entire 2011 range of online Xperia interesting statements coming directly from the developer section of Sony that clearly describe what the advantages and disadvantages in adopting the new operating system. The agonizing wait for the release of version 4.0 may in fact weaken slightly for all terminals Xperia owners who can not rely on a hardware exception.
Sony does not want to play down expectations for the update that will bring several new features on the devices, but is keen to stress that the level of stability achieved by Gingerbread is really great and not comparable to ICS, obviously still immature.
The Xperia range 2011 has an average of 1-1.4GHz CPU and 512MB of Ram , the resources that allow upgrades but also require an optimization that does not preclude good performance. Ice Cream Sandwich is bringing many new features as seen in from a new look, a UI based on Holo, Face Unlock for terminals with front camera, a book that has more contact information and much more.
This is in contrast to a system designed around devices like the Galaxy Nexus (SoC TI dual-core processor with 1Gb of Ram), hence the difficulty in adapting the Qualcomm SoC (smartphone Xperia 2011) with specifications mentioned above, which show no doubt a consuming more resources than is the case in Gingerbread:

Many App use a significantly greater amount of RAM in ICS. For example, in the web browser and is particularly evident in our measurements is shown using a 20/30 Mb in more than Gingerbread. In our studies we have also seen that the transactions in writing and reading of the SQL database gets more time in the ICS, which slows down applications.
Another important change is related to ' hardware acceleration , supported in the latest distribution from the GPU which provides an interface more smoothly with a greater demand for Ram:

Tests on our applications have shown that such settings that uses 1-2Mb of RAM more and requires more time in starting with HW acceleration. Another effect is that it can in some cases contribute to the reduction of battery backup.

To overcome these drawbacks Sony is equipping an Ice Cream Sandwich Performance Assistant , which will aim to keep an eye on the exploitation of resources and leave us to easily close the instances unnecessary, but can not do anything, for example, the acceleration hardware when playing videos that may adversely affect the autonomy compared to Gingerbread.

Sony operates the display on the problems of some Xperia S

Xperia S is now on the market for some weeks and, although it is a remarkably interesting, some users complain about the display problems. The official support forum has been opened a topic to try to understand what may have been caused malfunctions and stains that some customers complain. Sony has recently responded by clarifying what might be due to the defect.
Sony Mobile Communications has identified that the display of a limited number of smartphone Xperia S may show a slight yellow color if your smartphone is exposed to temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.  This problem is limited to a small number of units and the case was identified and corrected.  Every consumer who observed this defect in the display of the Xperia S is asked to contact their customer service to solve the problem at no cost.

So the problem identified and solved. You have found a similar defect?

Preview of Sony Xperia Arc S Android 4.0.3 (video)

Today is definitely the day for updates beta of Ice Cream Sandwich . After Acer products, here comes Xperia Arc S , the former Sony Ericsson device with the new update 4.0.3 Android seems to have permanently lost the Ericsson logo from the system operational . An update from the manufacturer officially shown that it is currently finalizing the development for future release in the next month.
Fluidity is undoubtedly great and the processor from 1.4 GHz single core associated with 512MB of RAM does not seem to have problems in managing the entire interface. The customization Sony is also very nice and fits well with the new features in the latest Android distribution. The following table updates the ICS for the Xperia range 2011:

Sony Ericsson:
  • S Arc (March 2012)
  • Arc (April / May 2012)
  • Neo / Neo V (March 2012)
