Smartphones for “OSes” Firefox OS will be released in 2013

Developed by the well-known of Firefox, the company Mozilla, announced plans to release its own open operating system based on web standard HTML5.
 
In Mozilla's official blog says that the new platform, called Firefox OS will run entirely on open Web standards and all the devices can be used on HTML5-based applications. Program, in turn, will have access to phone features such as camera, a gyroscope or a phone module.

Mozilla has already reached an agreement on cooperation with cellular providers, Deutsche Telekom, Etisalat, Smart, Sprint, Telecom Italia, Telefónica, and Telenor. To release smartphones running the new OS will be the company TCL Communication Technology (under the brand Alcatel One Touch), and ZTE. They will use the Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm.

Firefox OS for mobile devices developed on the basis of the draft Boot to Gecko, which allows you to HTML5-applications to access to basic phone features. According to the Mozilla, the platform will be optimized for entry-level smartphone, and with the low prices the company plans to capture growth markets.

Plans to develop a mobile OS Mozilla unveiled in July last year . An earlier version of Boot to Gecko company showed at the MWC show in February 2012. The first smartphone based on the new OS will be in early 2013 in Brazil under the brand name Vivo.
