Apple has patented a new solid connector for the iPhone and the iPad

According to insider information, iPhone next-generation, which Apple will present in October this year, will receive a new dock connector with 19 pins. It is smaller in size than the port with 30 pins, which is used in modern models of iPad, iPhone and iPod.

Previously, information about modifying the plug in the iOS-devices remained at the level of rumors, but now there was documentary evidence of this information, writes Macworld. Apple has received two new patents: the scope of one of them falls within the new connector with movable components that make "apple" gadgets are more maneuverable, the other provides for the right to develop a new power supply for peripheral devices.

Patents provide resizing charger adapter and data port. In other words, users who are planning to buy "five", will have to buy a new docking station and peripherals as well as the smartphone will not be compatible with most modern accessories.

The reason for the metamorphosis from the dock connector does not lie in the desire to arrive at a new Apple standard, and the need to save space inside the device to come, says the source. Updated "micro-docking" free up space for a large battery, 4G-modem and other components are much more important for the new iGadget.

Earlier on innovation, which "shock the ecosystem of accessories," have been rumors, but now this information is confirmed. It is assumed that the fall of Apple officially announced the new standard. The port is close in size to the Thunderbolt, but that's the similarity ends.

Among the other potential functions of the iPhone 5 is called NFC technology and support networks, fourth generation 4G/LTE. Probably, the touch screen device will be increased to 4 inches. The very same smartphone will get a metal back, and, thus, becomes less resemble the iPhone 4S, than was before. Among the recent rumors and leaks is also known that the iPhone will switch to ultra-standard SIM-card - nano-SIM.
