WSJ: Apple reduces the volume of orders for screens for iPhone 5 "because of low demand"

Newspaper The Wall Street Journal, citing the Japanese Nikkei portal reports that Apple is almost halved the number of orders for release for the iPhone 5 because the demand for the device was below forecasts.
Initially, the American manufacturer was planning to I quarter of 2013 to receive about 65 million mobile panels from companies Japan Display, Sharp and LG Display, but Apple is supposedly addressed to partners with the application to reduce the volume of orders. According to the source, Japan Display at its plant in Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan will reduce its output components to 75% in comparison with the volume of IV quarter of 2012, while the Sharp factory in Mie Prefecture reduce the volume by 40%. Earlier last plant was busy producing mobile screens for smartphones Apple.

Some analysts do not share the belief in the WSJ that the decline in orders for displays for the iPhone 5 is due to "low demand" to the device. It can also talk about reducing the life cycle of "apple" of smartphones. According to some reports, Apple may introduce a new model of iPhone in the beginning of this year. This benefit is the fact that the company already did so with a full-size tablet iPad - the fourth generation of this device came nearly six months after the previous model. First manufacturer stood between updates about iPad annual pause.

According to rumors, Apple is considering using the phone in the next  iPhone 5S  brand new screens, manufactured by technology «touch-on-display». They are thinner, stronger and have a higher level of sensitivity to touch. If successful test panels will be tested in the laboratories of Apple, the company Innolux - manufacturer of a new generation of displays - will become a key supplier of Cupertino corporation.
