CLSA: Apple will release a 5-inch «iPhone Maxi» until the end of the year

Analysts from the Hong Kong-based CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets say that Apple is testing for four prototype iPhone, and one of them has a display with a diagonal of 5 inches. Observers note that the company is likely to bring to market this version of the device that budget model iPhone, which is also in test labs in Cupertino.

According to CLSA, Apple now holds the testing of four different modifications iPhone: updated version of the iPhone 5, known as «iPhone 5S», model «iPhone Maxi» with a display of 4.8 to 5 inches, and one or two low-cost version of «iPhone mini». Of course, the fact that Apple is testing prototypes of these devices does not mean that they will go on sale.

While many are saying it is about the budget model, the experts believe that the idea of ​​a cheap iPhone contradicts the strategy and brand image of Apple, and therefore such a device is unlikely to emerge. Much more likely to find themselves in the stores at version «iPhone Maxi». 

"For Apple, it'll be easier to allow customers a selection between the quality model of iPhone and iPhone maxi with 5 in. show, moreover, it doesn't cause a big reduction within the margin" - said in a research note, Nicholas Baratta of CLSA. 

However, experts predict that if Apple did release two versions of the alleged - iPhone Mini and iPhone Maxi, then in 2014, the company shipped a total of 286 million of its smartphones.

Recall, on the eve of the Taiwanese edition DigiTime reported that the inexpensive version of iPhone, which has not yet been officially announced, Apple does exist and is studying the possibility of mass production of such a gadget.
