Google is developing similar to AirPlay devices on Android

Google has decided to create a technology that would compete with its own development company called Apple AirPlay. AirPlay is compatible with most of the "apple" of devices- IPhone, iPod touch, iPad and Mac - and is designed to broadcast audio and video "on air". One of the advantages of the standard Google will be his "openness" - available to any manufacturer.

On the eve of Google revealed a test version of its wireless technology, making it possible to transfer video from YouTube Android phones and tablets to set-top Google TV. In the summer the company reported a media player for streaming music and video Nexus Q. Despite the fact that sales of the device have been terminated, Google has continued to take steps in this direction.

Google - not the only one who does not leave the idea to release an alternative to AirPlay. In September, the Wi-Fi Alliance approved standard Miracast, which do not need a mediator in the form of a wireless access point Wi-Fi. Miracast transfers data between smartphones, tablets and set-top boxes directly. Support for this protocol was included in Android 4.2, Google presented in early November.

AirPlay is a precursor to a standard that has created an alliance of manufacturing companies Digital Living Network Alliance in 2003. Protocol DLNA, with which you can also explain content into the living room without wires, now supports over 500 devices.
