A group of British scientists from the University of Bangor
started creation of technology, so the speed of Internet access for ordinary
users could increase to 20,000megabits per second. The new technology is still
designed only for Europe. Currently, the average speed of Internet access in the UK is
about 33 Mbit/s. Thus, if it is regular UK users can download HD-movie in about
20 minutes, after the widespread introduction of a new invention for the same
action would have to spend a matter of seconds.
The new technology, over which a researcher provides for the
use of standard optical fibers. Prototype modem can transmit data at high
speed, is already being tested, but the creation of a working prototype device
could take several years. Britons believe that in the future they will be able
to increase the data transfer rate up to 40 000 Mbit/s.
