The new Apple mini device features an LCD
display on the IPS-matrix with a diagonal 7.9 inches. The screen resolution is
1024 × 768 pixels. At a density of 163 pixels per inch to distinguish the individual
points on a typical distance for the device difficult for comparison, the iPad
third and fourth generation, the figure is 264 dots per inch, the iPhone since
the iPhone 4, which was first used in the production of Apple Retina-display -
326. The density is higher, but also smart phones are used at a smaller
distance from the eye, than tablets.
Be that as it may, towards the middle of 2013 a new contract
supplier AU Optronics plans to adjust production for Apple 7.9-inch Retina
panel with a resolution of 2048 × 1536 pixels. At least, so says SlashGear
citing Chinese website Donews.com. Measure of the number of points per inch in
these screens is 324 ppi.
Recall, Apple began selling the tablet iPad mini November 2.
Gadgets will be in stores in the U.S. and 33 European and Asian countries.
During the first weekend after the start of sales of Apple sold about 3 million
new tablets. If the rumors are true for the update, the company will present
the iPad mini 2 in the second half of next year.
