Apple will build a big data center in Hong Kong

Apple plans to build its first non-US data center, said the publication Hong Kong Economic Times. The new data center will be located in Hong Kong. According to the source, Apple will launch data center in the Science and Technology Park in the southern part of the industrial complex Tseng Wong about where their data centers are NTT Company and bank HSBC.

Now available Apple has several "cloud" services, including iCloud, iTunes Store and App Store. Their services are provided from data centers located in California, near the headquarters of the corporation, and in the northern states and in North Carolina. In addition, the company is building a new data center in Oregon and Nevada.

Using its own data centers Apple and other companies with extensive online presence, hoping to reduce their overhead costs for maintenance of traffic, reduce the cost of support for online platforms and more flexible management of IT capacity.

According to the Hong Kong Economic, construction of the data center Apple will begin in the first quarter of 2013, and the site is planned to open in 2015. With the data center the company hopes to serve Asian customers and especially China, where the "apple" products are in great demand.
