Apple has extended the contract with Liquidmetal 2014

In 2010, Apple  invested  in a company Liquidmetal Technologies 20,6 million dollars. Based on previously published details of the contract with the manufacturer of the iPhone and iPad, the latter was until 2012 the sole owner of Liquidmetal Technologies created the production of unique high-strength alloys.

According to MacRumors, Apple on Monday renewed an agreement with Liquidmetal for another two years. According to a statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission U.S. (Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC), partnership of companies will run until February 5, 2014. The new agreement means that Apple is seriously expects to release a product using the technology of "liquid metal".

The innovative material LiquidMetal different unusual properties - with less weight, he is almost 2.5 times the strength of the best titanium alloys, and 2-3 times faster than the resistance of deformation traditional metals. In addition, the material is extremely resistant to corrosion and has high thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity. This alloy Apple has released the bracket for the extraction of SIM-card from the iPhone.

Advanced material combines the advantages of metal, glass, plastic: it is durable, resistant to scratches and corrosion, and can take complex forms. Products generated from this alloy is very strong, regardless of the form attached to it, less susceptible to the usual "fatigue" and weigh lighter. This means that Apple will be able to develop more lightweight and compact smartphone, tablet and laptops, which in this case exceed the strength of competitors counterparts.

Observers believe that Apple will first be made from "liquid metal" only some of the components for their devices, and then issue a "revolutionary product" based on it, which will be very difficult to copy other manufacturers.
