Samsung Smart TV ES8000: first contact with the Speech Recognition features and gestures

Thanks to Samsung we could get my hands in front (it must be said) to the new Smart TV Samsung ES8000, the top of the range for 2012 with the first commercial shipments of these days.
ES8000 evolve in all aspects, from design which, while maintaining the philosophy super slim profiles and chrome base changes compared to the 2011 model. Inside the heart of the TV is a dual core processor that seems to get along well with smart TV menus and applications, including some of the Smart Interaction.
The platform is based on a new way to interact, "new" so to say, since already Kinect with Xbox 360 we have become accustomed to this type of control. Unlike Microsoft accessory, though, Samsung has integrated the webcam into the TV so you have control through gestures and voice commands, and with the microphone on the TV, either with the remote control.
Along with the traditional remote control, in fact, in the box Samsung also includes a version with fewer buttons and a microphone so as not to scream at the TV when it is necessary not to disturb the house. Smart Interaction enables a series of basic commands offline (you can see the bar that appears in some photos of the gallery) and advanced speech recognition that works when the TV is connected to the network (via built-in WiFi or Ethernet) also dictate the text when you surf the Internet for example.
After our test we can confirm that the functionality of gestures and voice recognition works well, very good performance with the webcam (click the hand is better than the closed system used by Kinect) and the good voice although we may try to confirm the everything at home without the noise of the presentation.

The content side is enriched with three new applications: Kids, Family Story and Fitness. The first is a content aggregator for the little ones while the second offers a "social diary" that family members can use to share pictures and video, record events, to mark birthdays and make them available to members of the family from a distance.
Fitness, however, is the channel that incorporates the experience of the Wii console and Xbox 360 with Kinect, putting at the disposal exercises, statistics and more.
Enhanced the interaction with the ecosystem Samsung DLNA to send over to the TV content from cameras, camcorders, smartphones and tablets, and the app over Android to control the television (with the possibility to use the device as a keyboard), May / June, at the launch of the Galaxy S3, dedicated to video surveillance app will also allow you to use your webcam to TV activating it by phone (also from the stand-by) and have a direct stream of what happens at home / in office. Do not miss the WiFi then mirroring that allows you to view a large screen tablet or mobile phone.
The functional connection between TV and the SMART device does not stop there though: always via smartphone or tablet we can enable logging of remote favorite program provided it is connected a USB stick or external hard drive (via the two doors from o.5 At the door or available from 1 A).
ES8000, ES7000, as well as, the module mounts Evolution, a slot for upgrade - both in terms of hardware than the software - the TV with a range of future technologies.
Speaking of the technical side, the LED panel mounts Real Black Pro technology to improve the performance of blacks, colors and images while ES8000 is the Ultimate Micro Dimming. A good TV really evolved and fascinating!
ES8000 in cutting 55-inch is available at $ 3,700, the 46-inch model at $ 2,600 and the 40-inch at $2,048. For the ES7000 series, however, increased from $ 3,458 to $ 2,434 by 55 inches by 46 inches to finish with 40-inch to $1,920.
