First benchmarks of new models of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air

No sooner had Apple announced the updated lines of notebook MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, as the first results of testing of these computers in the benchmark Geekbench 2. This test is conducted by the publication of Primate Labs, evaluates the performance of the processor and system memory.

The list of models includes 15-inch MacBook Pro with the display Retina and processor Intel Ivy Bridge with a frequency of 2.3 GHz or 2.6 GHz and 15-inch MacBook Pro with the chip at 2.3 GHz and 2.7 GHz. Also tested was attended by 13-inch MacBook Air with dual-core processors at 1.8 GHz and 2 GHz and 11-inch version of the MacBook Air processor at 1.7 GHz and 2 GHz.

In the category of MacBook Pro won the model without display Retina with quad 2.7 GHz (12,303 parrots), it is almost 14% faster than the equivalent in 2011. At the same time, 15-inch MacBook Pro with the Retina screen and processor Intel Ivy Bridge with a frequency of 2.6 GHz with its 11 844 points is only slightly inferior to the leader of the ranking.

As for the test notebook MacBook Air, is leading a 13-inch model with a dual-core chip, Intel Ivy Bridge at 2 GHz and 11-inch version with the same CPU, scored 7007 points and 7004, respectively.

Of course, synthetic tests do not give a complete picture of the performance of "poppies" in the real world, moreover, Geekbench 2 practically does not evaluate such an important component, as the work of the graphics subsystem. However, given the test results quite without interest.
